Big Update on Rumored Change to Main Event Title Match at NXT Takeover Philly *Spoilers*

As noted, Andrade “Cien” Almas’ WWE NXT Title challenger at NXT Takeover Philly was determined at Wednesday night’s NXT TV Tapings at Full Sail University.

As we noted in our spoiler report, four singles matches were taped featuring the following:

-Johnny Gargano vs Kassius Ohno
-Lars Sullivan vs Roderick Strong
-Aleister Black vs Adam Cole
-Trent Seven vs Killian Dain

The winners of the above matches then faced off in a Fatal Four Way match, with Johnny Gargano emerging victorious. Gargano was then named the new #1 contender to Almas’ NXT Title at NXT Takeover Philly.

As noted, Trent Seven won a battle royal at last night’s NXT live event in Lakeland to earn his singles match, even though the match had already been taped the night before at Full Sail.

-Lars Sullivan vs Roderick Strong
-Aleister Black vs Adam Cole
-Trent Seven vs Killian Dain
-Kassius Ohno vs The Velveteen Dream

With the above new matches being announced, it appears as if Johnny Gargano has been pulled from title contention, even though he won the Fatal Four Way match at the NXT TV tapings and was named the new #1 contender.
