The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted searches across Tamil Nadu in connection with the Coimbatore car blast case. The searches began at 6 am at 40 locations, including 30 in Coimbatore, eight in Chennai, and two in Madurai, as per The Indian Express.

The searches were also carried out at Kottaimedu, Ukkadam, Ponvizhanagar and Rathinapuri as part of the state-wide searches by a team that arrived from Chennai and Kochi, the police said. The NIA is searching the properties of the suspects and supporters related to the blast.

On October 23, an LPG cylinder exploded inside a Maruti 800 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu at around 4:30 am. The explosion occurred near the Kottai Eswaran temple, killing a 25-year-old man, identified as Jameza Mubin.

The NIA, India’s primary counter-terrorist task force, on October 27, took over the Coimbatore car blast case investigation by registering an FIR.
