While an overbooked main event on Sunday didn’t end things on the best note, Survivor Series weekend mostly lived up to the huge promise it had going in. NXT put on another excellent TakeOver special, with every match on the card serving its purpose. Even with the changes, War Games was a spectacle that justified WWE bringing back the concept.

With the WCW crew enroute to Europe for a one-week tour, the questions about the future of the company remain. With little substantial information available, much of the talk going around consists of rumors, but it is clear the two possibilities remain–the company will either be purchased by a group headed by Eric Bischoff, or have its expenses cut to as much bare bones as possible and remain part of Turner Broadcasting.

TUESDAY NEWS UPDATE

Tonight’s SmackDown has Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton, Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan vs. Charlotte Flair, Naomi & Natalya, AJ Styles vs. Sunil & Samir Singh in a handicap match, The New Day vs. Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable, and the return of the Fashion Files with an edition parodying the “Saw” movie franchise. It should also feature some follow-up to the storyline where Daniel Bryan didn’t fire Owens and Sami Zayn last week when Shane McMahon expected him to. After tonight, there are two more episodes of SmackDown until Clash of Champions.
Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose will get their tag title rematch as they challenge Cesaro & Sheamus on Raw next week. There will also be another cruiserweight fatal four-way match, with whoever wins it going on to face Rich Swann in a number one contender’s match the following week.
Nielsen ratings are currently delayed due to Thanksgiving. Ratings for Raw should be out tomorrow.
The trio of Paige, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville was given the name “Absolution” last night.
Raw also saw WWE tease that Matt Hardy may be becoming “Broken” soon. He repeatedly said “delete” and did the arm motion after his loss to Bray Wyatt.
WWE partnered with March of Dimes in New York today to help raise awareness and fundraise for people suffering as a result of premature childbirth. WWE matched all donations made during today’s luncheon.
Jinder Mahal visited patients at Kentucky Children’s Hospital prior to SmackDown taking place in Lexington today.
Uproxx spoke to Glenn Jacobs about wrestling in Knoxville last night and then going to a campaign event.
The Rock’s new Brahma Bull tattoo has been completed after 30 hours of work.
Brie Bella appeared on Lilian Garcia’s “Chasing Glory” podcast.
Kurt Angle took part in a Q&A session at a meet and greet for iPlay America last Saturday.
The New Orleans Times-Picayune interviewed Jim Ross about meeting fans at a book signing in the city.

wXw announced Tenille Dashwood (formerly Emma) for their Superstars of Wrestling show in Oberhausen, Germany on May 5th. Dashwood will also be wrestling for AIW in Cleveland on February 23rd, for Wrestling has a Tomorrow in Providence on February 11th, for Standalone Wrestling against Brittany Blake in Mays Landing on February 24th, for AML Wrestling on February 25th, and for Remix Pro against Britt Baker in Marietta on April 21st. Her match for WrestlePro in Rahway on February 3rd will be against Angelina Love.
Cody Rhodes will be defending his ROH World Championship against Jay Lethal for Revolution Pro Wrestling at York Hall on December 8th.
As would be expected, ratings for Impact were down big on Thanksgiving. The show averaged 169,000 viewers after doing 272,000 the week prior.
ESPN ran a profile on Joey Janela and his career in pro wrestling. In the piece, he says he originally wanted Matt Riddle vs. Ken Shamrock for his Spring Break show over WrestleMania weekend, but Shamrock was asking for $10,000 and they got Dan Severn for 10 percent of that.
PWX announced Juice Robinson for January’s X16 tournament.
PWG released the preview videos for night one and night two of the DVDs for this year’s All Star Weekend shows.

At a media lunch in Las Vegas today, Dana White said Volkan Oezdemir is still likely to get the next shot at Daniel Cormier’s title despite Oezdemir being arrested on charges of aggravated battery earlier this month.
White noted that CM Punk is coming to Saturday’s show in Detroit and they’ll talk about what’s next for him.
White claimed Nate Diaz has turned down fights against everyone on the roster, saying they’ve offered him matchups for a year and a half. White clarified that no official offer was made for Tyron Woodley vs. Diaz.
On the subject of Conor McGregor, White said they’re still at the stage where they don’t know if he’ll ever fight again.
The UFC uploaded the first and second episodes of Embedded for Saturday’s PPV.
Dan Hellie, who called Dana White’s Contender Series, will be making his official UFC play-by-play debut at Friday’s TUF 26 finale on FS1.
Eddie Alvarez called his bout against Justin Gaethje an opportunity to determine who the most violent man in the UFC is.
Rory MacDonald thinks he’ll be one of the alternates in Bellator’s heavyweight title tournament.
