In a match that seemed impossible not all that long ago and was still pretty shocking when the announcement was made, Chris Jericho will face Kenny Omega for New Japan Pro Wrestling at the Tokyo Dome on January 4th. That was confirmed in a video at NJPW’s Power Struggle event last weekend after Omega had defeated Trent Barreta to retain the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.

THURSDAY NEWS UPDATE

WWE announced today that Bayley, Mickie James, and Dana Brooke will face off in a triple threat match on next Monday’s episode of Raw to decide the final member of the show’s women’s team for Survivor Series. The storyline last week was that Alicia Fox didn’t pick Bayley for the team, which consists of Fox, Nia Jax, Asuka & Sasha Banks. They’re currently scheduled to take on Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Naomi, Carmella & Tamina at the PPV.
Chris Jericho is celebrating his 47th birthday today. While Jericho may be wrestling for NJPW at the Tokyo Dome in January, Vince McMahon’s Twitter account sent out a message wishing him a happy birthday.
Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro, Sheamus & Bray Wyatt, John Cena vs. Samoa Joe, and Braun Strowman vs. Kane are currently advertised for WWE’s next house show at Madison Square Garden, which will take place on December 26th.
The Rock denied that he turned down the opportunity to appear in ESPN’s Ric Flair 30 for 30.
Conrad Thompson, who is friends with Flair and used to co-host his podcast, reviewed the documentary on the Wrestling Estate podcast.
WWE uploaded video of Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose’s post-match promo where they put over Kurt Angle after they teamed with him in Birmingham, England earlier this week.
James Ellsworth was beaten down by the SmackDown women’s division at yesterday’s house show in Leeds, including Becky Lynch giving him a Stone Cold Stunner.
Maria Kanellis-Bennett wrote an open letter on Facebook responding to people who have been critical of her and Mike Bennett and have called them jobbers.
The Fremont News-Messenger ran a story on Dave Bautista and the success he’s found as an actor.
Pro Wrestling
Though the match has been apparent for a while, ROH officially announced today that Cody vs. Dalton Castle for the World title will be the main event of their Final Battle PPV at the Hammerstein Ballroom on December 15th.
The Orlando Sentinel has a profile on Castle ahead of ROH’s shows in Florida this weekend.
Kenny Omega told Tokyo Sports that he’s staying in New Japan Pro Wrestling and called the promotion a place where wrestlers can be themselves. He said he wants to show how great a place NJPW is.
NJPW has video of everyone’s post-match comments from Power Struggle with English subtitles.
Tomohiro Ishii and Keith Lee faced off in what was said to be a great match at Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Global Wars UK show at York Hall in London today.
The NWA uploaded episode five of their “Ten Pounds of Gold” series, which is the final episode before Sunday’s Tim Storm vs. Nick Aldis title match.
Michael Elgin will appear on tomorrow’s episode of the Edge and Christian podcast.
Madison Rayne, who also appeared on this week’s Impact tapings in Ottawa, will be wrestling Deonna Purrazzo in a Women of Honor match at ROH’s Survival of the Fittest show in Oklahoma City on November 19th.
Ethan Page made his debut for Impact at tonight’s tapings.

Dominick Cruz suffered a broken arm and is no longer scheduled to face Jimmie Rivera at UFC 219.
Georges St-Pierre was noncommittal about what’s next for him when appearing on a special edition of the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani today.
GSP revealed that he has a neck injury but said he plans on defending his title.
Luke Rockhold claimed that GSP is trying to find his way out of facing interim middleweight champion Robert Whittaker.
Bellator announced that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is rejoining the company after signing a multi-fight deal with them.
