Eva Marie Officially Gone from WWE

We all knew that this was coming, but today was officially the day that it was made official. At long last, Eva Marie revealed on Twitter that she and WWE have parted ways for good. The now former WWE Superstar has been rumored to be leaving WWE for a while now, these rumors also intensified when she announced that she had taken on a few projects outside of WWE. The company also recently removed her from the upcoming season of the Total Divas reality show. She had been a member of the show ever since the very first episode which aired back in 2013. Eva posted the following message on Twitter earlier today:

Today I’m saying a bittersweet goodbye to @WWE. Thanks to the entire team, and YOU, my fans, for these 4 years! #AllRedEverythingForever ?? pic.twitter.com/1YlYbAqdZ2

Eva Marie has been a very polarizing performer since the very start of her WWE career. WWE always had huge plans for Marie, but multiple incidents would get in the way of those plans every single time. Although she could accurately play the role of a reality television star on Total Divas, most fans were critical of her due to her inexperience in the ring. WWE went out their way to help her when they sent her back down to NXT and recruited Brian Kendrick to train her a few years back, but she could never seem to find her footing as a wrestler. WWE allegedly handed down the role that they had planned for her to Smackdown star Lana.
The departure of Eva Marie hardly comes as a surprise. It’s been rumored for months now and Marie has not appeared on WWE television at all since last August. Marie did begin to make progress in her career last year when she tried out a gimmick which saw her find creative ways to get out of wrestling matches. That all came to a halt when she was suspended for 30 days after violating the WWE Wellness Policy. Unfortunately, she never appeared on WWE programming after that, but she did land a role in the upcoming movie Inconceivable which will star Nicolas Cage. The departure is said to be a mutual decision made by both Marie and WWE.
