Florian Thauvin headed to Serie A

According to RMC and Gianluca Di Marzio, Florian Thauvin may be headed back to Europe. It was initially reported that the French winger would be headed back to Ligue 1, but after OM and OL denied contact with the player it seems he is on his way to Serie A side Udinese. It is believed that the former 2018 World Cup winner will be signing with the Italian club after his medical evaluation.

Mexico may not have gone the way he planned, but the move to Serie A may see him get a chance to turn things around fairly quickly. With Gerard Deulofeu being sidelined due to knee surgery Thauvin will be the hopeful replacement. Even with the former Marseille winger’s talent, walking into a starting position with a first-division team in Europe is difficult. Especially considering he has not played in some time.

Serie A will be a new adventure for Thauvin and at 30 years old he still has much to offer a team. We have seen countless players fail at new clubs in a different league just to succeed somewhere else. For a player with so much talent, one can only hope to see him in top form again.
