Goldberg Pays Respect to The Undertaker Ahead of their WWE ‘Super ShowDown’ Match

Goldberg was interviewed on Inside the Ropes, where he talked about a variety of pro wrestling topics. One of those topics was the legendary Undertaker, who Goldberg will face at WWE’s upcoming Super ShowDown event on June 7.

Goldberg talked about his respect level for The Phenom, who is regarded by many pro wrestling fans as one of the most iconic figures in the history of the business.

“I’ve known Mark since before he was in the business. He’s a great guy, he’s one of the guys that I looked up to, he’s one of the. guys that I followed in his footsteps–having the right mentality in the business and standing for the right thing. He was a guy that I always admired and I still do to this day and I always will.”

It’s important to note that this interview took place well before Goldberg’s most recent WWE return, which happened on the June 4 edition of SmackDown Live. But Goldberg was already contemplating what a match between him and The Deadman would look like.

“I’d love to get my hands on him, I swear to God, it’d be awesome! You guys would be freaked out if Taker and I went at it! It would be a lot of fun, cuz he’d let me do more than two moves.”

Goldberg’s words were met with a chuckle from the audience, but the crowd fully understood his sideways comment toward Brock Lesnar. Is it possible that Lesnar didn’t want Goldberg to do much in the ring during their feud, or was that dictated by WWE? What sort of match will Goldberg and Undertaker have at Super ShowDown? WWE fans are surely curious and they will get their answer on June 7.
