Man Utd battling German and Portuguese clubs for England Under-17 starlet Crowe

The Red Devils face stiff competition for the teenager, who was part of the Three Lions’ European U17 Championship squad in May

Manchester United are among a number of clubs battling for the signature of England Under-17 international Dylan Crowe.

The 17-year-old impressed during the Three Lions’ journey to the semi-final of this year’s European U17 Championships and has been offered a professional contract by Ipswich Town.

However, the right-back has not yet put pen to paper with the Championship side as he is being targeted by a number of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Goal understands that Premier League sides Manchester United and Brighton are in the race for the teenager, but face competition from Bundesliga duo RB Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach as well as Portuguese side Benfica.

These clubs are willing to pay up to £500,000 ($660k) to sign the 17-year-old now rather than wait until after he signs terms with Ipswich.

Crowe has lined out for Ipswich’s underage sides, including their U18s but has yet to make his senior debut.

Should he move to Germany, Crowe would add to the growing contingent of young English players who have traded their home country for the Bundesliga.

Everton winger Ademola Lookman spent last season on loan at Leipzig, with Reece Oxford and Mandela Egbo both lining out for Gladbach – the two teams interested in Crowe.

In addition, Jadon Sancho has been a revelation in Germany since moving to Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City after winning the U17 World Cup with England.
