MULLET ALERT: Channahon Boy, 2, Competes In USA National Contest

CHANNAHON — For the second year in a row, a Joliet-area child will be competing in the USA National Mullet Contest. Last year, thousands of Joliet Patch readers followed our story about Joliet resident Melissa Meyers’ 2-year-old son, Damien, who gave it his best effort in the USA Mullet Championships.

On Wednesday afternoon, Joliet Patch was notified by Channahon parent Jasmine Aron that her son Axell is now competing in this summer’s USA National Mullet Contest.

Jasmine Aron said they are trying to raise money for Jared Allen’s homes for Wounded Warriors. “Vote for our little man, who is 2 years old,” she asked.

“We have been growing our son’s hair out to be a part of the USA National Mullet contest. The mullet contest is a nationwide contest that helps raise money for the Jared Allen’s homes for Wounded Warriors. 100 percent of donations go towards Wounded Warriors to help our wounded veterans,” Jasmine Aron explained in her email to Joliet Patch’s editor.

“Any donation, big or small, would make a big impact,” his mother wrote.

If you want to vote for Axell Aron in his hopes of winning the USA National Mullet Contest, visit his bio on the contest website.

The little boy from Channahon just turned 2 years old recently.

As for his mullet, “My mullet is pretty Rad and my barber puts designs in it. We nicknamed my mullet THE AXE, as it has the same shape as my mullet. I love to shake my head and let it flow and I can’t wait to see how long we can grow it,” his bio reads.
