Mass. Teen Arrested For Driving 120 mph

A teen from Revere, Massachusetts, was arrested after being accused of driving more than 120 mph on Interstate 95.

The arrest of Salim Castro, 19, was part of a Sunday enforcement effort by state troopers on the ground and in the air that led to dozens of motor vehicles. Originally, he was closed at 94 mph, while driving a 2009 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle, state police alleged. After attempting to stop him, Castro was accused of fleeing onto Route 101 west and clocked driving more than 120 mph. He was stopped after exiting the highway at Exit 8, while entering the parking lot of the New England Dragway, where there was a large event occurring.

Brentwood and Epping police, along with troopers, arrested Castro. He was charged with reckless driving, reckless conduct, disobeying an officer, and resisting arrest or detention charges as well as operating with a motor vehicle endorsement, unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to display registration violations. Castro is due in Brentwood District Court on June 27.

The operation was held in response to “the increasing number of traffic violations and crashes in New Hampshire highways,” Lagace said.

“During the operation,” she said, “troopers identified a total of 67 violations to include 6 vehicles traveling over 100 mph and 24 vehicles traveling over 90mph.”

Jeff Apsey, 55, of Kittery Point, ME, was arrested on a reckless operating charges in North Hampton at 11:55 p.m. on April 17.

Christopher Carty, 24, of Eillot, ME, was arrested at 10:12 p.m. on April 17 on two driving after revocation or suspension and two driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent charges as well as a yellow-solid line violation after an incident in Exeter.

Dennis Scott Gower, 51, of Milton was arrested at 2:05 p.m. on April 11 on felony operating after being certified as a habitual offender and unofficial inspection-registration decal after an incident in Rochester.

Jonathan J. Wentzell, 33, of Woburn, MA, was arrested at 9:07 a.m. on April 9 on a suspension of vehicle registration charge in Hampton.

Jordan Michael Walsh, 23, of Framingham, MA, was arrested on a reckless operation charge at 4:36 p.m. on April 8.

Michael Anthony Arrington Jr., 28, of Orlando, Florida, was arrested at 10:20 p.m. on April 6 on second-degree assault-deadly weapon, reckless conduct-deadly weapon, disobeying an officer, driving under the influence-aggravated-attempt to elude police, driving after revocation or suspension, and resisting arrest or detention in North Hampton.

A 17-year-old from Nashua was arrested at 12:59 a.m. on April 7 on speeding-25+ mph over 65 limit and driving after revocation or suspension charges in Hampton Falls.

Juanjose P. Cardona, 44, of Framingham, MA, was arrested at 4:35 p.m. on April 3 on speeding-16 to 20 mph over 65 limit an operating without a valid license charges in Greenland.

Xuedong Wang, 28, of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested at 2:37 p.m. on April 22 on a reckless operation charge in Manchester.

Jesus M. Cabrera, 53, of the Bronx, New York, was arrested at 9:07 a.m. on April 22 on driving after revocation or suspension and operating without a valid license charges in Manchester.

Frank Evan Sanchez, 49, of Windham was arrested at 2:04 a.m. on April 21 on driving under the influence and DUI-adult more than 0.08; minor mor than 0.02 charges and a lane control violation in Derry.

Jacob Robert Ailes, 18, of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. on April 15 on driving under the influence, DUI-adult more than 0.08; minor more than 0.02, transport alcohol by a minor, and unlawful possession-intoxication charges in Plymouth.

Shawn M. Wells, 46, of Salem, MA, was arrested on a DUI charge at 11:40 p.m. on April 13 in North Conway.

Ashley C. DeYoung, 30, of Ossipee was arrested at 8:52 a.m. on April 11 on a felony operating after certification as a habitual offender and disobeying an officer charges in Center Ossipee.

Alicia Marie Lake, 29, of Winchester was arrested at 12:08 a.m. on April 8 on second-degree assault-deadly weapon, reckless conduct-domestic violence-deadly weapon, reckless conduct-deadly weapon, resisting arrest and two simple assault charges after an incident in Swanzey.
