Not Bentley Or Rolls Royce, This Is The Luxury Car That Millionaires Should Buy Instead

Those with enough spare change usually pick up a Bentley or a Rolls Royce. And why shouldn’t they? The cars have a lineage that dates back almost a century and they come with every conceivable creature comfort. As a bonus, the cars also attract a lot of attention.

This is the Toyota Century, a luxury limousine most of the world doesn’t even know exists. The reason being, it’s a Japan-only model that serves as the company’s flagship in the home market. But it’s such a legend that buyers in America are willing to pay top dollar even for used imports. It’s unbelievable that a car this size can exist in a country known for the tiny Kei cars.

The Century was first launched in 1967 and in the intervening 50 years, has only been updated three times! Rolls Royce on the other hand, updated the Phantom in 13 years. The Century sold unchanged for full 30 years up until 1997! And it took another 20 years for this new 2018 model change!

Don’t Miss
  • The Century is designed to cater to the rear seat passengers and this new model has been lengthened and there’s even more room to stretch your legs.

Heck, there’s a powered adjustable leg-rest and seats have a massage function. The car now measures nearly five and a half meters in length. It’s also taller now so it’s easier to get into those sofa seats.

Inside, there’s wool upholstery instead of leather. The reasons are that leather isn’t as soft to sit on and wool is more comfortable in the bone chilling Japanese winter! You’ve got to love the Japanese for thinking of everything. Though the company will sell a leather version if the customer so desires.

Options includes a writing table, reading light, rear seat entertainment system with a large display, and a 20-speaker audio system. Powering the behemoth is a 5.0-litre V8 engine that works with a hybrid system to ensure it meets emissions norms.
