'If Serena needs help for Halep match, I will be there' – Venus Williams

earned just five games against Simona Halep in the Australian Open third round, losing 6-2 6-3. In a press conference, the American player said: I think she played pretty flawless today.

Only 12 errors. Unfortunately, I had almost three times as many. Just needed to keep my errors down. But she played a great match. Is it disappointing not to be going ahead to play Serena? I would just say in general losing is not fun, no matter who youre trying to play next.

So it has nothing to do with the next round or who youre playing. Asked about what she tried to do better in order to compete against Halep, Williams added: I think she hit her first serve really well.

I dont see her go for her first serve very often. She hit the second serve really well. I think I just could have played breakpoints a little better. I was definitely very competitive on every game, but just a few too many errors.

It was still a really good match. Venus was also asked about her next plans. Her next tournament is the BNP Paribas Open of but she admitted that playing Fed Cup in February would be fun

Im not entered in anything, she added about her tournaments schedule. If I played anything, I would need a wild card. Serena is familiar with Simona, as well. Is this something Venus would talk to her about, considering she gets her in two days? Yeah, Ill definitely I guess talk to her.

I dont know if Serena needs my help or not. If she does, Ill be there. ALSO READ: Rafael Nadal: Worse players than David Ferrer won a Grand Slam title
