When Virat Kohli walks into bat vs Bangladesh on November 2, he will be on the brink of a T20 World Cup record.

The former India skipper needs sixteen runs to become the highest run-scorer in the tournament.

Kohli needed 28 to do so vs South Africa but only managed 12.

Leading the pack as of now is Mahela Jayawardene with 1016 runs.

Kohli is the only Indian with 1000 runs to his name.

Kohli’s record in the T20 World Cup is just amazing. In 22 innings he averages 83.41 and has hit 12 fifties.

On 10 occasions he has never been dismissed and his personal best is 89 not out.

In this edition, Kohli has made over one fifty runs at an average of the same.

The form is good and that is great for India.

By the time he finishes, he will probably leave others far behind.
