You don’t have to leave Manhattan to make a splash: Several luxury city listings now promise fantastical pool features.
The 13,000-square-foot, eight-bedroom, 13-bathroom townhouse at 118 East 76th St. has all the trappings of Upper East Side splendor. There’s a formal living room, a cigar bar, a library and a six-level staircase. But more unusual is the 36-foot-long pool on the top floor of the house. The pool room is coated in soothing, blue mosaic tile and accented by a large, figurative sculpture. The floor also includes a spa, a glass-enclosed gym, a sauna and a full bath. It’s on the market for $39 million with Richard Steinberg and Tal Alexander of Douglas Elliman.
Downtown, at 109 Waverly Place — a 25-foot-wide, 8,300-square-foot, eight-bedroom townhouse — a stunning lap pool flows in the cellar. Illuminated by natural light filtered through ceiling panels, the above-floor pool features one long glass side, creating the equivalent of a human aquarium. The six-story townhouse also comes with an outdoor Jacuzzi on the roof deck and a full gym with steam room. It’s on the market for $23.5 million with Robert Dankner of Prime Manhattan Residential.
And if you want to add a waterfall to the action, swim over to 232 West 15th St. in Chelsea. The 5,000-square-foot, six-bedroom, seven-bathroom townhouse comes with a 30-foot-long, 8-foot-deep heated saltwater pool within a double-height solarium. A cascading waterfall flows into the pool from the second story. There’s also a pool-level sauna and poolside wet bar. It’s on the market for $11.5 million with Lisa Interdonato and Raymond Dillulio of Douglas Elliman.
