Social media was in a frenzy Sunday night trying to piece together the Mets-Blue Jays trade. Initially it was only known that Marcus Stroman was being dealt.
Amid the madness emerged a seemingly amused Anthony Kay.
“What’s up Twitter??” the now-former highly touted Mets pitching prospect tweeted. “What’s going on is something happening?”
At this point, it had yet to be revealed that Kay, along with fellow up-and-coming pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson, would be heading to Toronto as part of the deal for Stroman., which is pending a phycial.
But it’s likely the 24-year-old Kay already knew his fate by then. If not, he certainly does now.
