Djokovic praises women's tennis: We should be more respectful of each other

often praised female tennis players and their position in the sport. As a matter of fact, several players sent a video message to Andy who recently announced his retirement from tennis. Novak Djokovic appreciated Murrays support over the years and called for more players to do the same.

We should be more respectful of each other, said Djokovic. Thats it. I think theres not much to say about. We are all part of the same boat. We are all part of the same sport. We should respect and cherish each other because we all contribute to the sport that we love.

We all try to create a platform for all of us to thrive on. Thats something that Andy was doing really well publicly. He was very supportive of womens tennis. It doesnt surprise me that theres a lot of support from the womens side towards Andy.

For sure, we want to see that more. Djokovic also commented on tournaments prize money: Were trying to increase the number of players that are able to travel around the world, not just cover expenses, have the full team, have a decent living out of the sport that they play.

I think a lot of the attention and the focus is on the top players, how much are the winners of Grand Slams earning, which is a very significant sum of money, absolutely. Last year the US Open has announced obviously huge additional money towards the winners sum.
