usually has a light tournaments schedule, and the 2019 season is not set to be an exception. After the Australian Open, the Serbian player did not commit to any tournament until Indian Wells, the first Masters 1000 of the year that takes place in March.

A few months ago the Acapulco Open Tournament Director Raul Zurutuza had said that Djokovic may have committed to play in , but it will not happen. In an interview to Tennis World USA, the Tournament Director of the Duty-Free Tennis Championship admitted that they tried to bring the 31-year-old in an already star-stunning field that already features Roger Federer, Kei Nishikori, Marin Cilic and Andy Murray, but they failed to do it. Novak is not on the entry list and that is his decision, said Talhak.

Novak has played in Dubai many times and won the title four times. He is always very popular here and we hope to welcome him back again soon. Acapulco got several top players in the recent years, also because it is nearer to Indian Wells.
