— Glenn Jacobs, known in wrestling circles as Kane, has cleared the first and possibly toughest hurdle in his bid to become Mayor of Knox County by declaring a win in the primary and moving on to the election to be held this summer.
— Jacobs won by just 17 votes – 14,633 to 14,616 – with 100% precincts reporting and 43 provisional ballots yet to be counted and expected by Thursday.
— The win moves Jacobs forward in the general Mayoral election on 8/2 as the Republican candidate and he will be a significant favorite over the Democratic primary winner.
Glenn, along with his family, volunteers and supporters declare victory in a hard-fought Knox County Mayoral race this evening. Together we won! Tomorrow, we move forward.
