After Sabarimala, These 7 Places Also Need To Follow Suit And Allow Women To Enter

Being a woman, there are a lot of boundaries you’re pushed into. One such baseless tradition, going on for centuries, debars women from entering a few religious places.

Nevertheless, the times are changing and the recent Supreme Court verdict permitting women, regardless of age, to enter Sabarimala temple in Kerala is a proof. But we’still have a long way to go. Here are 7 places that should follow suit and give women a warm welcome to all their quarters:

1. Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Kerala

While the women can enter the temple to offer prayers, they are still kept away from the vault with all the riches.

2. Lord Kartikeya Temple, Pushkar

The temple worships the brahmachari form of Lord Kartikeya and it’s said that women who enter the temple will be cursed instead of getting blessings.

    4. Patbausi Satra, Assam

It’s believed that letting women enter will make the temple impure and hence, the ban.

    5. Jama Masjid, Delhi

One of the largest and the most sacred mosques, Jama Masjid, does not allow women to enter after the evening prayers have been observed.

    7. Bhavani Deeksha Mandapam, Vijayawada

Women still don’t have access to the inner sanctum of the temple here. Interestingly, after the death of the head priest, the government honoured his daughter with the title of the head priest of the temple but even she wasn’t allowed into the inner sanctum.

    Hindu Existence

It’s high time we do away with these archaic and baseless traditions.
