13 Struggles That Are All Too Real For Those Who Love To Travel

#Wanderlust #Travelforlife #worldtour #eurotrip #livetotravel. We’ve all seen the hashtags and even envied those who post them. But, do we really know the struggles behind them?

Yes, we all love travelling, and we all have travel goals. Some of us just live to travel.  But, as soon as you start doing it, you realize there are a lot of struggles that come along with it and that you had no idea about them before.

1. Standing for hours for the immigration at the airport.

The excitement that you carry from your place to the airport fades out when you are standing at immigration for hours and all you want is a place to sit for a while.

2. Limited selection on the in-flight entertainment system.

Especially in long-haul flights. How many episodes of FRIENDS can you watch, really? The truth is, even one more can send you over the edge.

    3. Sitting next to an unpleasant co-passenger.

You’ll know when the person next to you is not doing anything but farting throughout the journey and you feel like you are running out of oxygen.

    4. The constant currency confusion.

How much is this note according to my currency back home? Umm? Is this too expensive or not? And you beat yourself up for not paying more attention in math class.

    5. Not getting enough rest and feeling tired always.

Getting up each day and looking forward to new adventures and partying late night because you want it all. Can’t waste a minute, right?

    6. Unable to adjust your taste buds to the food available.

No matter how much you planned to try out the famous local dishes, the taste of your favorite dal chawal is nowhere to be found. The bright side is you might end up liking some of the local dishes.

    7. Always being on Google Maps.

Missing out all the awesome views because you have to take a right turn according to Google Maps. Thank god we have it but, you just missed that famous church.

    8. The nagging feeling that a local may be trying to rip you off.

Not knowing how the locals act or react, figuring out how to deal with them takes up a lot of mental effort.

    9. Running out of phone storage when you click a lot of pictures.

But you did make space before coming on vacation? Well, you also love clicking 10 pictures in order to upload that one perfect shot on Instagram.

    10. Learning the basic lingo as soon as possible.

We’ve got Google, but it’s not always reliable, right? One just can’t manage to travel without knowing the basic language of the country you are visiting.

    11. Consuming too much alcohol one day and regretting it the next day.

Vacation! Dancing! Alcohol! Too much alcohol!

And then comes a point where can’t even bear the smell of it and you end up with a hideous hangover!

    12. Constantly checking your passport after every half an hour.

Because you just can’t lose your passport no matter what!

    13. The fear of missing out the important places.

Juggling all the places you were told to visit and exploring new ones jams your schedule but can you really see it all? You may, but you may not!
