Roger Jakeman has been appointed as Akzo Nobel’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), succeeding Klaas Kruithof, who retired as of July 1, 2022.
In his new role, Roger Jakeman will lead the company’s Research and Development (R&D) function, driving the innovation and sustainability agenda. He will also continue to head up the Product Management Center of Excellence.
Roger Jakeman joined Akzo Nobel in 2008
After graduating with a DPhil. in Chemistry from Oxford University, Roger Jakeman held various technical and marketing roles during his 35-year career. He joined Akzo Nobel in 2008 following the acquisition of ICI. During the last five years, he led Akzo Nobel’s Technical organisation and successfully implemented the company’s R&D transformation program.
