Carmelo Hayes has challenged Bron Breakker to a match at next month’s Battleground premium live event.
After Hayes defeated Grayson Waller on Tuesday’s Spring Breakin’, Hayes issued the challenge for May 28 in Lowell, Massachusetts, saying that Breakker might not be interested but he was. Hayes demanded Breakker come out to respond. Breakker’s music hit, but ended up attacking both Hayes and Trick Williams from behind. He put Williams in the recliner, then exited the ring and speared Hayes into a wall on the outside of the ring. After the break, footage was shown of Waller being stretchered out.
Hayes defeated Breakker at Stand & Deliver earlier this month to become the new NXT Champion. After Hayes called out Breakker to acknowledge his run as champion on the Tuesday after Stand & Deliver, Breakker instead turned on Hayes, laying both Hayes and Williams out.
The following week, Breakker laid out Andre Chase and said he wasn’t interested in the NXT Championship. At Spring Breakin’, he defeated Chase in a singles match.
