With The Big Sick or HBO’s Silicon Valley being his ticket to fame, Pakistani-American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and podcast host Kumail Nanjiani, has recently become everyone’s favourite person.

In fact, people on Twitter are already rooting for him to host the 2019 Oscars after he stole the show as a presenter.
But being talented, extremely popular, hardworking, dedicated, and erudite is one thing, and being brown is another. In a world where most people are first judged by the colour of their skin, the quality of their clothes and the fluency with which they speak a language that’s not their’s, it’s hard to leave a mark solely based on one’s talent.
In a tweet, Kumail Nanjiani shared the horror of being around racist hecklers and people who are still failing to see him as an artist over the colour of his skin.
But within minutes, he was backed and supported by India’s two most successful male stars who’re shining in Hollywood – The Big Bang Theory fame Kunal Nayyar, and Kal Penn who has multiple great roles to his credit.
Kunal joked about being mistaken for him and wishing it were true.

Don’t you think all of us could create a comprehensive support system for our friends of different colour around the world? Don’t you think we all need some concrete changes in the law to help and support people from different caste, creed, strata, colour and background?
Well, all of this does sound like a little bit of wishful thinking, but what we can really do is make some small changes at our end and see the world flourish!
