Despite opening loss Victoria Azarenka may still come up big at Melbourne

Ive been through a lot of things in my life…sometimes I just need a little time and patience and a little support, Victoria Azarenka had said at an emotional press conference after her first round loss to Germanys Laura Siegemund 7-6, 4-6, 2-6 in Melbourne.

The loss didnt altogether signify her playing ability but her struggles in her life outside of tennis. Azarenka may be frustrated with herself for not bouncing back well after the birth of her son Leo but she has at least gone through to the semifinals in Miami with Sloane Stephens and celebrated being in the finals of the Mixed Doubles as a runner up with Jamie Murray.

She had met up with Sloane Stephens again at the third round of the U.S. Open and the quarters at the Pan Pacific with Camila Giorgi. But the new year didnt start off well as she lost at the opener of her warm up in Auckland to Venus Williams in three sets and now another opening-round loss at the Australian Open to Laura Siegemund.

If it wasnt the custody court battles for her son Leo, it was trying to come back in good enough form to have some major wins in her tennis. Right now is just a harder struggle for me. I can continue to repeat this word, that Im struggling right now.

I think its pretty obvious, shed said. She is now 53rd in the WTA rankings and her time in singles has come and gone in Australia, but she may have one other thing to look forward to and thats her doubles with the Australian iconic genie Ashleigh Barty.

Many players have looked upon playing doubles as their saviour for keeping their skills alive as Jack Sock whod racked up some titles pairing with Mike Bryan when his brother Bo was recuperating from hip surgery. Victoria Azarenka will continue to try finding the key to success again in her game of singles and if all else takes a long time, shell gather solace in coming together with players in doubles to keep her skills toned and possibly earn a title or few in the process.

As she has said during the press conference, she is struggling to come back and have success, but If theres a store where you can buy it, Ill go purchase it.
