Flower And Plant Farm Opening Third Location In East Windsor

EAST WINDSOR, CT — A flower and plant farm with locations in Enfield and Cromwell will soon be adding a third outlet to its footprint, taking over a site which was home to a popular garden center for nearly half a century.

Garden’s Dream is moving into the building and greenhouse at 266 North Road in East Windsor, longtime home of Revay’s Garden and Gift Shop. Co-owner Ben Lupien told Patch all three locations should be ready to open by Friday.

Francis and Lorraine Revay opened a small fruit, vegetable and garden stand in their hometown in 1974. The business expanded several times over the ensuing four decades, and was eventually taken over by the Revay’s daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Charles Hart.

Last summer, the Harts closed up shop, and Lupien and his wife Barb decided to open at the location.

“It’s a good operation for additions to our business,” he said.

A native of mid-coast Maine, where his family runs the sprawling 19-greenhouse Moose Crossing Garden Center, Lupien and his wife moved to Connecticut in 2009 and bought into the Flower Power Farm on Route 5 in East Windsor. Two years later, they sold their interest to their business partner, and in 2012, opened Garden’s Dream on Taylor Road in Enfield.

They expanded their operation in 2016 by adding a second location on Route 99 in Cromwell, site of the former Millane Nurseries adjacent to the Tournament Players Club at River Highlands.

Garden’s Dream grows many varieties of annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables and herbs. Between the three locations, the Lupiens employ between 60 and 70 people.

Early season hours are daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
