According to PWinsider.com, former WWE Superstar James Ellsworth is being hidden backstage in a bus, and will be making some kind of appearance at tonight’s WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
Ellsworth made his WWE television debut as a jobber in a Braun Strowman match, and because his performance caught on he was brought back as a character on Smackdown Live and paired with Carmella. He is best known for interfering in the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, removing the briefcase and giving it to the Statin Island Princess.
For what it’s worth, Carmella is going into a Smackdown Women’s Championship match against the “Empress” Asuka tonight at the Allstate Arena. It’s a match that, by all counts, should be a one-sided squash match in favor of the challenger. If they were to bring Ellsworth back to television, it would make sense that he would in some way cost Asuka the title and for the second year in a row assist Carmella in controversial fashion.
