Call it “The One with The Pop-Up.”
Warner Bros. TV has dropped new details about its “Friends” pop-up experience being staged in conjunction with the classic NBC sitcom’s 25th anniversary.
The nostalgia-packed, month-long pop-up will be based in two places in SoHo from Sept. 7 to Oct. 6, with the ticket-holder entrance located at 76 Mercer Street (between Spring and Broome) and a retail store entrance at 503 Broadway.
The store will be open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; tickets to visit the pop-up are priced at $29.50 a pop and will be available starting Friday. Aug. 2 online at Friends25popup.com.
The space will offer set re-creations, as well as props and costumes that were used on the series, which was set in New York City and aired 236 episodes from 1994 to 2004. The show made household names of Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry — and spawned the short-lived spinoff “Joey,” starring LeBlanc reprising his doofus “Friends” character Joey Tribbiani.
Fans will be able to “peek through Rachel and Monica’s purple door, relax on Chandler and Joey’s recliner after playing some foosball, or help Ross with the infamous sofa pivot,” according to a Warner Bros. press release touting the pop-up, which is sponsored by Superfly, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Warner Bros. Television Group.
The pop-up’s first day, Sept. 7, will be open only to AT&T customers via the AT&T Thanks app.
