I was considered too black for my tennis whites, says Serena Williams

In an ad for Bumble for the Super Bowl, commented on how she wanted her daughter Olympia to grow. The American champion tries to spend as much time as possible with Olympia even in tournaments. I want my daughter to be truthful and honest, strong and powerful; to realise that she can impact those around her, said Williams.

You want her to grow up knowing a womans voice is extremely powerful. As females, we need to continue to be loud and make sure we are heard. Serena wants to have a voice in todays society: Ive never been the right kind of woman.

Oversized and overconfident. Too mean if I dont smile. Too black for my tennis whites. Too motivated for motherhood. But I am proving, time and time again, theres no wrong way to be a woman. Im more dedicated than ever to helping advance gender equality – and putting an end to the misogyny and toxic masculinity that still plague society.

We dont tolerate hate speech or bad behavior of any sort, said Bumble founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd. Serena recently said that her daughters first doll was black, while her second was white because growing up she didnt have black dolls to play with.
