Arrive, open, display and discuss. With its mobile trade show, igus offers engineers the opportunity to experience innovations in motion plastics firsthand. Now in the fifth year of its European roadshow, where igus has visited its 1,000th company, the motion plastics specialist brings its new mobile experience to North America. At the modular tradeshow stand, engineers can learn how to reduce costs and improve the technology of their application with a wide variety igus products.
Traveling to trade shows can take a lot of time and effort and not every staff member gets to attend. To make meeting engineers and introducing new products to them more straightforward, igus offers a mobile alternative with the traveling trade show. The pop-up stand is built within an hour and offers a trade show space of about 1,300 square feet. The products chosen to be on display are individually tailored to the company’s industry. Often this type of hands-on demonstration of igus components can lead to interesting discussions of applications for the components directly in the engineers’ machines and processes.
1,000 mobile tradeshow visits and counting
In the last five years, igus has visited over 1,000 companies worldwide with this type of hands-on experience. In June of 2018, igus christened the new North American trailer at Wittmann Battenfeld in Torrington, Conn. Wittmann Battenfeld, which gives plastics processors a unique advantage through a seamless combination of injection molding machines, automation and auxiliary equipment, was enthusiastic about the mobile exhibition concept: The igus mobile tradeshow offered Wittmann Battenfeld engineers an ideal opportunity to get acquainted with the lubrication-free and maintenance-free solutions from igus right on-site.
166 exciting motion plastics concepts brought on site
For the tradeshow at Wittmann Battenfeld, igus displayed among other things, robotic arm and linear cable management systems, a wide array of flexible cables optimized for motion, self-lubricating linear guide bearing systems, and self-lubricated bushing solutions as well as tribo-tape with new dimensions. The adhesive backed liners are particularly interesting because of their low-friction and wear-resistant properties and can simply be cut with scissors and applied with adhesive backs. Allowing the engineer to take his or her time, examine the components, and ask detailed questions helps to increase understanding of whether the components will work in their applications.
With new innovations shown at the Hannover Fair on board, the mobile tradeshow will visit over 250 customers across the United States and Canada during 2018 and 2019.
