A Westchester estate that was once home to President John F. Kennedy’s speechwriter, the late Ted Sorensen, is on the market.
His widow Gillian Sorensen, a former UN assistant secretary-general for external relations, sold the 11-acre estate, known as Serendipity, to the current owner for $1.25 million.
The owner has now divided the property, at 129 Upper Shad Road in Pound Ridge, into two parcels.
The first now asks $1.19 million.
That parcel features a 4,240-square-foot, three-bedroom home that comes with two full bathrooms and two powder rooms.
There are also French doors, high ceilings, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, a pool and a tennis court — all on 7½ acres.
A second parcel on 3½ acres comes with approved plans for a five-story home, and is on the market for $1.7 million.
The listing broker is Kathryn Finelli, of Houlihan Lawrence.
