The 21st edition of the RBC Tennis Championships of Dallas will take place at the TBarM Racquet Club between February 4-10, gathering a strong field of players that includes a top-ten star as well! Daniel Nestor, Dmitry Tursunov, Ryan Sweeting, Steve Johnson, Kyle Edmund, Ryan Harrison and Kei Nishikori are the past champions in Dallas and it should be interesting to see who will lift the trophy in ten days, with four top-100 players leading the draw.
Jack Sock had to withdraw due to injury but Mackenzie McDonald, Ryan Harrison, Bernard Tomic, Reilly Opelka, Miomir Kecmanovic and Dustin Brown are all in the draw although the crowd will be eager to watch doubles matches as well, with the world no.
9 and Miami champion John Isner making the last-minute signing to enter the draw! At the age of 33, John had a stellar 2018 season, winning two titles including his first Masters 1000 trophy in Miami, backed by Wimbledon semi-final and the US Open quarter-final.
For the first time in a career, the American had a chance to compete at the ATP Finals, losing all three matches but closing the year with positive vibes and big goals for 2019 as well. John hasnt played that well in January, though, losing to Taylor Fritz in Auckland and another young American Reilly Opelka in Melbourne, in the match with four tie breaks that lasted just under three hours.
Now, John will compete in front of the local fans, his friends and family in Dallas, entering the first Challenger in almost ten years after Winnetka in 2009 and seeking the third Challenger doubles crown, winning the previous two in fall 2007! John will use Dallas to hit some balls and have fun on the court, heading to New York after that where he will try to turn the things around and start winning again.
His partner will be a good friend Alex Kuznetsov who retired after Aptos in 2016, returning to action one more time to share the court with John at the event he played for ten years.
