Mastermind gets 24 to life in fatal kidnapping of landlord Menachem Stark

The mastermind of the fatal botched kidnapping of notorious Brooklyn landlord Menachem Stark was sentenced to 24 years to life in prison on Thursday — after the victim’s widow said her family’s pain will never leave them.

“He robbed my children of their father, and me of my husband,” mother of seven Bashie Stark told a judge of Erskine Felix.

“I am raising my children alone,” she said. “I’m all alone because of this man.”

The sentence is one year short of the 25-to-life maximum the bungling killer had faced for accidentally murdering Stark, 39, during a 2014 kidnapping gone horribly wrong.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun did not explain the one-year break, though he noted before handing down the sentence that the murder was accidental.

“One thing appears to be clear: that this defendant, when he planned this event, that he did not intend to kill Menachem Stark,” the judge said.

Felix, 40, is also suffering from leukemia and attended the sentencing in a wheelchair.

But Stark’s family was still satisfied with the sentence.

“We’re happy with the outcome,” the widow told The Post. “This man deserves never to leave prison — to be locked away forever.”

Stark was grabbed on a Williamsburg, Brooklyn, street and thrown into the back of a Dodge Caravan by Felix and his brother, Kendall, 30.

Kendall was sentenced to two and a third to seven years prison in March and had testified against Felix.

The two had hoped to hold the millionaire landlord for ransom.

Instead, Erskine sat on on the bound and struggling Stark while they were still inside the van, suffocating him. The Felixes then dumped the body in a Great Neck, Long Island, dumpster and set it on fire.

Stark will now never go to his children’s weddings or celebrate the birth of his grandchildren, the stoic widow told the judge in asking for the maximum sentence.

Already, he has missed two weddings and two grandchildren, she said in a courtroom crowded with the victim’s friends and family members.

“On January 2, 2014, my soulmate and best friend was abducted and killed,” the widow said.

“It was Erskine Felix who planned and executed this cruel attack,” she said.

“My loss is huge. My children, too, are going through life missing the love … their father has always provided.”

Felix maintains his innocence, his lawyer, Mark Pollard, told the judge — who was unmoved.

“I am dumbfounded to hear that the defendant maintains his innocence,” the judge said. “As far as criminal trials go, the evidence in this case was absolutely overwhelming.”
