Mazda has issued a recall in the US for more than 260,000 SUVs and cars after discovering a software issue that could possibly cause engines to stall without warning.
The problem is said to affect Mazda6 midsize sedans and CX-5 SUVs made between 2018 and 2019, as well as Mazda3 smalls cars from 2019.
It was found in the computer that controls a portion of the Japanese automaker’s fuel-saving cylinder deactivation tech. People behind the wheel would not get any warning, should the engine stall.
Mazda has yet to receive reports of any accidents or injuries caused by the software issue.
