Naomi Osaka reveals how Chris Evert helps her

In press conference at the Australian Open, commented on how the 18-time Grand Slam winner helps her. Osaka sometimes trains at the former American players academy and she appreciates Everts support.

Shes very nice. Whenever I do see her, she always comes up and says a lot of encouraging words so Im really grateful for her, said Osaka. What does she share? I dont know. If its a secret…

I mean, one of the biggest things, before I won the US Open or Indian Wells, she always told not told me, but like advised me to be more consistent. This is back when I was hitting everything, you know, like a few weeks ago — no, just kidding (smiling).

But, yeah, I mean, for me its a bit more not that Im, like, ragging on Sascha, but its a bit more — it feels like I should listen to her more, in a way, because — oh, Im going to get so much hate.

You know, because I have seen what she did, and shes also played. So its a little bit more believable. Osaka defeated Su-Wei Hsieh in three sets, 5-7 6-4 6-1, on Saturday, and she will face Anastasija Sevastova on Monday in a fourth-round clash.
