The 1987 Wimbledon champion believes that does not need to have a lot of regrets on his career. The Brit won three Grand Slam titles in his career, which is less if we compare them with the 51 Majors combined conquered by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray.
In an interview to Express, Cash said: With a bit more luck hed could have grabbed a few more Grand Slams but hes [Murray] a warrior, an unbelievable athlete. Andys career has been phenomenal, theres no way around it.
To have won a couple of Wimbledons, the US Open, double Olympic champion and the Davis Cup for his nation it really doesnt get any better than that. And of course, the two tournaments he didnt win, he was in the final of.
He really couldnt have done much more in a career, in an era that was extremely tough. Federer and Nadal have been big rivals throughout their career. Weve got three of the all-time greatest players in Nadal, Federer and Djokovic and there is Andy playing against them.
On Murrays injury that influenced him since 2017, Cash added: Im not surprised that Andy is struggling with the hip. Ive got bad hips and a bad back and only have to play three hours a week he has to play three-four hours a day.
Its a really big ask to come back from an injury like this. I think hes an incredible champion and hell fight on but for him to play with pain doesnt make much sense. Lets hope he gets through the tournament.
He deserves to finish at Wimbledon and thats what he wants to do and with a bit of luck hell be able to do that. ALSO READ: Rafael Nadal: Worse players than David Ferrer won a Grand Slam title
