– WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne recently participated in a interview with DigitalSpy and discussed a wide variety of wrestling topics, check out the highlights below:

On how it feels to be only the second ever WWE UK Champion:

“It’s a crazy feeling. This whole year seems to have been one thing to the next – I blink and I miss it. When I think back to last November, when I had my tryout, it seems like every week there’s something new. From the UK tour we’ve got coming up, being at WrestleMania, getting to do NXT:TakeOver, being on NXT TV – every single thing feels like a new reason to pinch myself.”

On receiving support and advice from WWE legends, such as Jim Ross, Triple H and Shawn Michaels:

“That’s one of the craziest things about this whole year. How quickly we’ve gone from being relatively unknown independent wrestlers to all of a sudden rubbing shoulders with these people that I watched as a kid.Being able to talk to Jim Ross before the show was great, and it helped build our confidence. Then obviously him calling the match was exciting. Getting advice from people like Triple H and getting compliments and advice from Shawn Michaels. It’s really unbelievable to think how fast it’s all changed – it really is special.”

On his future goals that have him competing at WrestleMania:

“I wanted to work for WWE once and I wanted to make a living off of wrestling. They were my goals and I managed to achieve all of that by the age of 22, which then opened a whole new set of goals going forward. Honestly, it all feels like a bonus, but I am still goal orientated and I have things in mind. I’d love to do WrestleMania – if it was possible I’d love to defend the UK Title at WrestleMania, and who knows – in a few years’ time, whether I’m the first British WWE Champion, or maybe the second or third, that’s definitely a goal that I’d like to achieve.”

On how he feels about WarGames being revived and coming to NXT?

“I think everything that’s going on in sports entertainment and wrestling right now is exciting. I feel like you don’t know what’s going to happen next, you don’t know who’s going to come next. The Network is able to educate people. For my generation especially, maybe something like War Games wasn’t as popular of an idea, but now you can get on the Network and go and look at that and get excited about what’s to come. That’s opened a lot of opportunities for different stuff to make sports entertainment a bit more fresh.”

On who he wants to wrestle anyone in history, who would it be and why?

“I’d have to go with William Regal for that one. He was a huge factor in me getting hired in the first place and being put in the position I have been, so I’m eternally grateful for that.
