Prana Prenatal Yoga’s mission is to “make conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum and parenting more easeful and intentional.” The studio says that as women journey through the different stages of family planning, pregnancy and parenting, they will benefit from a team of experts who will nurture and empower them.
The owner of Prana Prenatal Yoga, Marissa Goulbourne, told Patch that the studio is a leading destination for prenatal and postnatal classes, workshops and support. They serve women and families from all over Westchester, Fairfield, and Rockland Counties as well as New York City. Goulbourne also said that they are one of the only yoga studios in the area solely dedicated to perinatal support, and the only Black-owned studio in Westchester County.

Goulbourne took over as owner of Prana Prenatal Yoga in July 2020. She began practicing yoga in 2014 as a way to cross-train for the NYC Marathon. Goulbourne says that she deepened her practice in 2016 while pregnant, and credits yoga for not only helping her through labor and delivery, but also strengthening her bond with her unborn child. After 15 years working in urban education, she says that she has a passion for empowering children of all ages and helping them succeed. Goulbourne completed her 200-hour training at Yoga Haven with Betsy Kase. She lives in Westchester with her husband and daughter.
