'Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer's longevity is insane' – Andy Roddick

In an interview to Sports Illustrated, the 2003 US Open champion praised longevity. Roddick, who retired at the 2012 US Open, made a comparison with the past.

Its amazing because many of the youngest guys gone out early, thats the real thing because Jim Courier retired 27, I retired 30, Pete retired at 32, said Roddick. So looking at Roger, I would have never thought – I am the last guy to be surprised by the amazing things Roger does on a tennis court – to see him going six years after I retired, is just insane.

It became the real body management, not playing a full schedule. For Rafa, its about the French Open, while Roger, during the clay-court season, builds up for Wimbledon. They have extended their careers. Roddick commented on his relationship with her compatriot Serena Williams.

Roddick, who will play an exhibition match at the New York Open with James Blake in February, recalled their origins. I was in South Florida which is where Ricky Nicky tennis academy was which is where Serena Williams went once she moved from Compton so weve know each other since we were probably nine years old.
