Rafael Nadal starts as favorite against Novak Djokovic, says Alex Corretja

believes that is the favorite heading into the Australian Open final against Novak Djokovic on Sunday. Speaking on Eurosport, the former world No. 2 said: Before the tournament if you would have told me Novak and Rafa will face in the final I would say Ok Novak is favourite

But after what we have seen over the two weeks I cannot see Novak being the favourite any more. I think Rafa has proved he is in unbelievable shape. Rafa is hitting his forehand better than ever, with his backhand, his serving, he is moving unbelievably well.

I think for Novak it will be a big, big challenge to stay if he can compete mentally and physically against him. Rafa is going to try and move him all around without rushing. I think that is going to be the key. At the same time Corretja thinks that Djokovic is playing well too, as they both had some strong runs: The fact that Rafa has been playing so well it forced Novak to put up his level a little bit.

If Novak didnt increase his level he would have struggled. Right now I feel like the final is 50/50. It will depend on how they feel that day. For Novak, it is going to be difficult to keep the level and consistency that Rafa is going to bring.

But of course its Novak Djokovic, and if anyone in the world can hurt Rafas game its Novak. ALSO READ: Djokovic would beat Roger Federer in Australian Open final – Evert
