Ring of Honor Crowns New Champion at ‘War of the Worlds’ on May 9

Shane Taylor is the new Ring of Honor World Television champion. Taylor won the title at War of the Worlds, in a Four Corner Survival Bout that also featured Hirooki Goto, Brody King and defending champion Jeff Cobb.

This title win was a long time coming for Taylor, who has gained some serious momentum over the past several months. That momentum was due in large part to his association with Bully Ray and Silas Young, who have partnered with Taylor on more than one occasion.

But Shane has truly come into his own and this match proves it. Taylor is now holding a title that has long been considered one of indie wrestling’s prestigious championships.

This was the second night of ROH’s War of the Worlds Tour, following up a very entertaining event in Buffalo, New York the night before. It’s unknown if and when Cobb will get his rematch, or if Taylor will move on to a new opponent as his World TV title reign begins.
