Serena Williams and Sharapova can go far in Melbourne, says Clijsters

the many legends who work for Nine 9 TV during the Australian Open. The former Belgian player, who triumphed in Melbourne in 2011, commented on the womens draw indicating some of the favourites to win the title.

Theres so many that you can name and so many players that have a chance to do well, said Clijsters. To see Serena fitter than last year already and playing well, Maria Sharapova showed some really good tennis yesterday and it would be nice to see her do well again.

Clijsters also commented on what inspired her to come back to compete after giving birth to her first child: It was hard but at the same time I felt this power inside of me. I didnt doubt for one second that I was making the wrong decision or that I wasnt going to be good enough to compete with these women.

Having that confidence whenever I stepped out on the court, knowing that I put in all the hard work to get back into being a professional athlete, it helped me be more confident on the court as well and compete with the best.

Clijsters also revealed an interesting thing: the place where she sleeps at night didnt change since when she won the title eight years ago: Im actually staying in the same apartment and the same room. I remember the night before my final, I was laying and I couldnt really fall asleep.

I had butterflies in my stomach and I was looking out onto Rod Laver Arena and the lights were on and I was thinking, OK, this is where its going to happen tomorrow night I was in that same situation a couple of nights ago when we flew in here.
