Sheamus will take on LA Knight on the SummerSlam go-home edition of WWE SmackDown.
In a match set up with a backstage promo segment on this week's episode, SummerSlam Battle Royal participants Sheamus & Knight will square off in a singles contest on the Friday, August 4 SmackDown episode.
After the Battle Royal was announced, on-screen authority figure Adam Pearce was shown discussing the match backstage on SmackDown this week. Knight then entered and demanded to be put in the Battle Royal. Sheamus then entered with The Brawling Brutes and verbally sparred with Knight, and Pearce suggested a match between the two to establish momentum ahead of SummerSlam.
The SummerSlam Battle Royal will feature talent from both Raw and SmackDown, but no stipulations or stakes have been established for the match.
