Private offices around the country give their government counterparts a run for quickness and agility – one of the many reasons we avoid going to a government bank or institute because things are slow… Damn slow.
But what if we told you that our government is planning to deploy robots?

In what looks like a dream come true, the Indian government is planning to hire robots to do menial chores. Everyday tasks that are often easy but time-consuming due to human involvement, will now be handled by robots. Not just this, these robots will also be used as tour guides – all you need to do is show the robot a picture and it will share all the information on it.
Furthermore, the government also has plans to incorporate this system at events and fests. Robots will be used to guide and entertain guests who come to attend these events.
But what still remains a matter of concern is India’s acceptance of this technology – not in terms of the agreement but in terms of mannerism. We recently learnt that after repeated reports of theft and vandalism, the government is planning to remove LCD screens from Tejas.
The infotainment system which was one of the biggest USPs of the new venture was the biggest target. Many LCD screens were broken or damaged, wires were pulled out and headphones went missing! Let’s hope the robots are treated better.
