Stabbing On Clement Street Injures 57-Year-Old Man: JPD

JOLIET — A 20-year-old woman from the 100 block of Joliet’s Clement Street is now being kept in a Will County Jail following a recent non-fatal stabbing that happened inside of her house this week, according to Joliet police arrest reports.

Authorities say that Angelina Miranda is now facing felony charges of aggravated battery and domestic battery.

On Wednesday, at 9:22 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Clement Street for a domestic disturbance.

Miranda had attacked a 57-year-old man, arrest reports show.

Miranda began to argue with the man and a woman in the kitchen of the residence. Joliet police learned that the 57-year-old man struck Miranda with a belt to end the argument at which time Miranda grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the man in the right bicep, causing a superficial wound. Miranda continued to struggle with the victim until the knife was taken away from her.

Miranda was on the scene, and she was placed into custody without incident.

Will County Jail logs indicate that Miranda remains in custody on Friday, her third day of incarceration since the violent incident at her family’s house.
