As is her habit, Taylor Swift took to Twitter Tuesday to tease yet another big surprise.
“Hi, it’s Taylor Swift,” the pop superstar hyped in a short clip. “I have something to announce tomorrow — only on ‘Good Morning America.’ ”
The big Wednesday reveal: Swift, 29, revealed she “can’t wait to perform in Central Park on August 22nd” in a video broadcast in Times Square.
“All of you can have a front-row seat to our biggest live event of the summer,” co-host Michael Strahan, 47, said after Swift’s announcement. “The countdown starts right now. Taylor is a great friend of ‘GMA,’ so we’re looking forward to this without a doubt.”
Twitter immediately blew up with ecstatic reactions from fans, who were already barely able to control their enthusiasm over what they hoped would be the music video for her new single, “The Archer.”
The promo-savvy Swift has been big on social media “surprises” lately, teasing everything from her upcoming movie “Cats” to each of her new songs and videos. She also popped up for an announced gig in June at the Stonewall Inn.
She will follow in the footsteps of fellow pop divas Barbra Streisand and Diana Ross when she takes the Central Park stage the day before her seventh studio album, “Lover,” drops.
The “GMA” concerts are typically free — and broadcast live. No word yet on the specifics for Swift’s performance, but the public can request free tickets to other shows in the summer music series.
