A Texas woman was arrested by cops after they found that she was living in a home with her dead mother for three years after the elderly woman was left on her bedroom floor to die, officials said.
Delissa Navonne Crayton, 47, was busted last week and charged with injury to a child under 15 for allowing her daughter to reside in the two-bedroom home with her grandmother’s decomposing corpse, according to the Seguin Police Department.
Police believe that the elder Crayton fell on the floor in 2016 and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. However, the woman died after lying there for five days unattended, cops said.
The two-bedroom home included one room with the skeletal remains of Jacqueline, and a second bedroom shared by Delissa Crayton and her daughter, according to police.
More charges are expected when investigators can confirm whether the skeletal remains found in the home on July 7 are those of Jacqueline Louise Crayton, Delissa’s mother.
The unidentified granddaughter has been placed with family members. Delissa Crayton is being held at the Guadalupe County Jail.
