I love celebrating my birthday, but after making a big deal out of it for 23 consecutive years, I have come to realise that there’s a downside to birthdays too. I recently met a friend who hates celebrating his birthday and while I was initially not ready to accept his arguments about how birthdays are not great, I later realised that he made sense. Best – Your friends and family surprising you at 12.
