On June 11, a 71-year-old woman in the 5700 block of Woodland Drive told police that she was checking her bank account and found big withdrawals.
She said her 69-year-old husband told her he made a total of five secret withdrawals to invest in a Hallmark movie production, according to the report.

The woman said she believed her husband was contacted on Facebook and tricked into electronically transferring money to Hallmark Movie Co., police said. Patch could find no listing for such a company, but there is a Hallmark Channel, which is known for its family-friendly movies.
The report listed a contact person for the so-called company, but the name was redacted. The report then states the person was “very upset and embarrassed about this situation and stated he will get this money back.”
The reporting officer said the husband was not at home, so the officer did not speak with him.
The five withdrawals were made April 30, May 6, May 14, May 21 and June 4, totaling $131,901, police said.
