Women's title match announced for WWE Raw

A third title match has been confirmed for next Monday’s episode of Raw.

WWE has announced that Asuka will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair on Monday’s show. Charlotte pinned Asuka in a non-title match on the June 8 episode of Raw after Asuka was distracted by Nia Jax interfering.

Asuka and Charlotte also faced off in a non-title match on Raw the week before that. Asuka lost by countout after Jax got involved and mocked her.

Asuka’s title defense against Jax at Backlash ended in a double countout. They then faced off in a rematch for the title on Raw this Monday. Jax hit a Samoan drop near the end of the match, but referee John Cone wouldn’t count the pin because Asuka’s foot was under the bottom rope. Jax argued with Cone and shoved him. Cone was about to disqualify her, but Asuka rolled Jax up and he fast counted to three.

WWE furthered that storyline today by writing that they were “reviewing the conduct of Nia Jax and referee John Cone in the aftermath of the Raw Women’s Title Match this past Monday.”

Bayley & Sasha Banks vs. The IIconics for the Women’s Tag Team titles and The Street Profits vs. The Viking Raiders for the Raw Tag Team titles will also air on Monday’s Raw. Plus, the episode will feature Rey Mysterio’s first in-person appearance since Seth Rollins attacked his eye last month.
