Wrestling Legend Aja Kong Officially Confirmed For AEW Double or Nothing

One of the all-time greats and a true pioneer of professional wrestling, the legendary Aja Kong is coming to All Elite Wrestling.

AEW Chief Branding Officer Brandi Rhodes broke the news herself at the fledgling promotion’s Double or Nothing ticket rally in Las Vegas tonight, along with the additional news that up-and-coming Japanese standout Yuka Sakazaki would be joining the team as well.

Aja Kong has been wrestling all around the world for nearly 30 years, and was a core member of the All Japan Women’s Pro-Wrestling roster during the height of the promotion’s glory days in the early-to-mid 90s.

Her classic performances against the likes of Manami Toyota (including multiple “five star” ratings from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter), Dynamite Kansai, Hikaru Shida, Bull Nakano, Toshiyo Yamada and others have stood the test of time.

While it’s unclear exactly what her role at AEW Double or Nothing will be, getting to see the 48-year-old icon wrestling on a major stage in the United States is a dream come true for many fans.
